"V" Hatred

Watching rather mindlessly the first two episodes of V, I found them rather enjoyable.

But reading David Sims' lacerating Onion TV Club recap of the second episode and the nasty posts that followed I think the future of this alien invasion may not be bright.

Well, those guys are insane, philistines, idiots, don't know good television, or just can't have fun. I watched the first V episodes when they originally came on television. I no longer watch much television; so I was interested to see V on the shelves again. But I passed them up at first. Then went back and passed them up again. To make a long story short, I bought them. (They all soon sold out.) The series has an 80s feel-good but serious-minded moral to it that I don't find much of anywhere else anymore. Watching it again, I found only a few parts campy. For the most part, the acting was good. And Michael Ironsides was awesome, pehaps stealing the show. Anyway, I'm almost out of my alloted computer time. My son, who rarely watches any popular television, was completely overwhelmed by these, proclaiming, "Daddy, I think these are just as good as Star Wars." Wow! Now we all know that's not true . . . don't we?
