Essay of the Day, 7/1/12: "No Box of Chocolates"

“No Box of Chocolates: The Adaptation of Forrest Gump.“ Literature/Film Quarterly 25 (1997): 18-22.

Like "The Strange Text of My Left Foot," this LFQ essay dismantled a bad faith adaptation of a book, Robert Zemeckis' fabulously successful 1994 film of Winston Groom's novel, though in this case a much more high profile film that was a huge international hit.

This was originally intended to be a chapter in a film text book which never happened.
